Active firefighter will maintain a minimum of 20% of yearly calls and a minimum total of 56 hours of training per year. This will be a minimum of 20 hours of in-house training per half year and a minimum of 16 hours of certified training. Those firefighters who have obtained firefighter 1 certification must maintain 40 total hours per year, 16 certified and 12 hours per half year of in house. All active firefighters shall be required to participate in preventing and fighting fires, assisting in emergencies and disasters and helping at all additional events held by the company unless by reason of employment, serious illness, disability or other unavoidable reason. Any non-firefighting member holding an administrative office and is fulfilling the duties of that office will be considered active. Active members must maintain Child Abuse Clearances every 60 months per state requirements, new incoming members will complete this online during their orientation.
Firefighting members whose availability is less than expected of an active member.
Associate members must have emergency response experience and must be approved by the Fire Chief to run emergency calls. Associate members must maintain a minimum of 8 hours per half of training. 4 hours per half of this training must be in-house. Associate members are limited to performing duties given by the Fire Chief prior to running emergency calls.
Members who are 14 to 17 years of age. Junior Firefighter duties will be given by the Fire Chief and are subject to child labor laws. When a Junior Firefighter is on the scene, the Junior must be in direct supervision of a line officer.
Members who are non-firefighters and strictly for the good of the company. Their purpose will be to aid active members in raising funds, handling building and grounds maintenance, and supporting active firefighters (childcare, refreshments, etc.) in any way listed within the company minutes or by approval of the President or Fire Chief or any officer acting on their authority.
